So basically, the Top 4 reasons to watch Once Upon A Time, to my followers who still need convincing:
1) Swanfire—the entire fairytale (fate) vs. reality (choice) surrounding their relationship is A++. And if we’re going to talk about individual journeys, the writers have done an excellent job in giving them both agencies—their choices led them to where they are now—while at the same time making their overall journeys intertwined since birth (by some twist of fate).
2) Rumbelle—do I really need to spell out why Belle and Rumple are both fantastic characters individually, and even more amazing when they’re together? Belle is this brave and feminine adventurer who is perfectly content with everything she does (mistakes and all), and Rumple is this broken and unsettled man who is not at all content with what he has. She’s the unsung hero, and he’s the damsel in distress. It’s just perfect.
3) Regina, all hail the queen—because I’m totally 100% invested in what the writers are going to do with her. They will either redeem her in the end, or give her a tragic ending. Or both. Both journeys sound painful. Plus, I’m a sucker for female “villains” who aren’t villains at all.
4) Peter Pan—look, I’m not going to freak you out with my Pan obsession since I was little. But I will tell you this, the actor who plays Pan is one of the most perfect castings in the history of ever.
