OMG I ship Wrighton too! OMG Why haven’t I found your blog before? I don’t ship Tom with Emma either, so yay for that too! I am one of those who is dying for Bonnie and Tom to do a movie together. I just, they’re just so AMAZING! <3
Aakjshdfkashdfl! OMG. WARNING- SHIPPER TALK:
About Wrighton— I know, right? They have this natural spark, I can’t even explain. I feel like Bonnie feels comfortable around Tom, enough to fuel the Drinny ship. Okay, don’t get me wrong. I ship Harry/Ginny like nobody’s business. But there’s something about Wrighton that makes the Drinny ship suddenly attractive. I’m probably reaching here, but in my opinion, they have more chemistry than Feltson! And to be honest, the main reason most people ship Dramione in the first place is because of Tom and Emma’s “history,” or whatever. But I never really jumped on that bandwagon.
REAL TALK THOUGH:
If we’re talking about which non-canon ship is more plausible, I think Drinny would make a more realistic and interesting dynamic than Dramione.
- For one thing, the Weasleys are pureblood: this gives more leeway and possibility for Draco’s character to be attracted to Ginny. They already have one thing in common: they both grew up in the wizarding world. They both grew up in a magical family—that factor alone is the basis for Draco’s preference in women.
- Also, Ginny’s feisty but compassionate nature would serve as a pragmatic counterpoise to Draco’s stubborn and arrogant behavior. Ginny is perfectly capable of putting Draco in his place if he ever throws one of his spoiled tantrums. However, she can also be very sweet and sympathetic without having the need to act superior (unlike Hermione who gives off the vibe that she thinks she’s smarter than everyone else, an attitude that Draco also possesses, thus, Dramione couldn’t possibly work because they would ineffectively bump heads all the time—but I digress).
- Lastly, Ginny is not as overbearing as Hermione. She can easily have an insightful relationship with Draco, given that they both get over the “bigot” and “blood traitor” issue. Ginny can also learn so much from Draco being an only child from a wealthy family, as she herself is the only girl from a poor family.
I would actually describe the Drinny relationship as “antidotal.” They can serve as each other’s “equal,” perceptively speaking… But seriously though. About Dramione—if we look at their ship in the most objective way possible, we’d know that realistically it would end in murder-suicide. *shrugs* At least with Drinny, there is an equal ratio of similarities and differences that would make their ship more likely to survive from a non-canon perspective.
SO, ANYWAY, WRIGHTON:
I honestly thought I was alone in shipping Wrighton. In fact, I am alone in the #Wrighton tag. No one has bothered to post anything there, and I’m quite disappointed! But anyway, don’t you just love that Tom needed some kind of continuous reassurance from Bonnie in [this] interview! We need more of the following flirtatious gif:

TOM: How was that?
BONNIE: [nods and smiles at him]
TOM: Pretty good? [smiles back at her]
